English Premier League 2019/20 Ante-Post Season Betting Tips

Hot Football Betting Tips

The Premier League season starts on Friday 9th of August, 2019 with Liverpool vs Norwich kicking off at 8 p.m. and as always there are plenty of Ante-post season betting markets available with some good value bets to be found.

Please see below for a list of some of the more popular ante-post season markets available at most quality on-line bookmakers with odds and recommended bets.

Premier League Outright

English Premier League 2019-2020 To win outright

The most popular and number one market for ante-post season soccer betting, this market also stays open through-out most of the season. Because of the fluctuation in results and points the teams’ odds can move up or down significantly and so value can be found both at the start of the season and during the season.

The favorites to win the Premier League Outright this season are last season’s favorites and ultimate champions Manchester City. Last year they were @ 1.61 but this year are even shorter @ 1.44.

Last year’s runners up Liverpool were @ 5.50 last year but this year are much shorter @ 3.75.

The outsiders are Tottenham @ 21.00, Chelsea and Manchester United @ 34.00 and Arsenal @ 41.00.

The rest are listed from Wolves @ 201.00 to Norwich @ 1501.00

Each Way at a place 1, 2 pays 1/3 so any or all of *Tottenham, *Chelsea and *Manchester United are value here. Chelsea and Manchester United both have ex-players and legends as managers while Tottenham have been very consistent in recent years so all are worth a gamble but you can find more value in the Straight and Dual Forecasts some of which are listed below.

Straight and Dual Forecasts

In these markets you choose which teams will come first and second. For a straight forecast the winning order of the two selected teams must be correct, for a dual forecast either winning order of the two selected teams is a winner so the odds are shorter (dual forecast odds are listed in brackets).

*Manchester City / Liverpool @ 2.20 (1.50)
Manchester City / Manchester United @ 15.00 (10.00)
Manchester City / Chelsea @ 13.00 (10.00)
Liverpool / Manchester United @ 41.00 (23.00)
Manchester United / Liverpool @ 81.00 (13.00)
Tottenham / Arsenal @ 351.00 (251.00)

Top Goal Scorer

Who will score the most goals in the Premier League season is as popular as the Win Outright market and it is no surprise that the Englishman Harry Kane (17 goals last season) is the bookies’ favorite @ 4.50 (last year he was @ 3.25).

Last year’s joint winner, with 22 goals, Mohamed Salah is the 2nd favorite @ 6.00 to repeat the form he showed over the last two seasons (last year he was @ 6.00).

*Sergio Aguerro, with 21 goals last season, is 3rd favorite @ 7.00

Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and last year’s joint winner with Salah and Mane is @ 8.00.

Liverpool’s joint winner last year Sadio Mane is @ 13.00 and Manchester City’s *Raheem Stirling (17 goals last season) is @ 15.00

The market then has Jamie Vardy (18 goals last season) @ 17.00 to Virgil Van Dyke @ 251.00.

Each way at placed 1,2,3,4 pays ¼ of the odds so *Roberto Firmino @ 26.00, *Gabriel Jesus @ 26.00 look good value to place.

Please note that if players finish with an equal number of goals (as per last season) then “Rule 4” is applied regarding payouts.

Premier League Winner and Top Goal Scorer Doubles

In this market we can select who will win the league and who will be the top goal scorer. Five players are listed with Manchester City at the top of the market:

Harry Kane & Manchester City @ 10.00 (last season @ 5.50)
*Mohamad Salah & Manchester City @ 11.00 (10.00 last season) – an exact repeat of the last two seasons.
*Sergio Aguero & Manchester City @ 9.00 (11.00 last season)
*Raheem Stirling & Manchester City @ 17.00
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang & Manchester City @ 13.00 (12.00 last season)
Romelu Lukaku & Manchester City @ 51.00 (15.00 last season)

The odds in this market are not so generous – please note they are only fractionally better than the outright Top Goal Scorer market.

Season Handicap

We love the handicap markets at Betplanet.net and this is one we will be looking at closely for our ante-post season bets because all of the teams are listed @ 16.00 so there is sure to be some value.

The bet works as follows – when the season is over the bookmaker then adds the points they quoted in the handicap at the start of the season to the total points each team actually finishes with. The team with the most points after these handicap points have been added is the winner.

The handicaps are given at around:

Manchester City + 0 points, Liverpool +6, Tottenham +19, *Manchester United +23, *Arsenal +23, Chelsea + 24, Leicester + 37, Everton +38 to Sheffield United +59

So for example if:

Manchester City finish with 86 points and + 0 points are added. = 86
Liverpool finish with 76 points and + 6 points are added. = 82
Manchester United finish with 79 points and + 23 points are added. = 102
Chelsea finish with 75 points and + 24 points are added. = 99

So Manchester United would win the handicap season bet.

Relegation / Finish Bottom

Of course, we can also gamble on who will get relegated and, or, who will finish bottom (odds listed in brackets) of the league and the favorites are Sheffield United @1.70 (4.00), Norwich @ 1.90 *(4.50) and Burnley @ 3.00 (7.00).

Outsiders are *Aston Villa @ 3.00 *(8.00), Brighton @ 3.00 (8.00), and *Newcastle @ 3.00 *(9.00).

The remainder of teams are Bournemouth @ 5.00 (17.00) to Manchester City @ 1001.00 (2501).

*Southampton are @ 6.00 which represent the true odds if considering they finished 5th from bottom last season, just two places and 5 points from relegation.

Relegation Trebles

Relegation Trebles are also available where you can predict which three teams will all get relegated.

The lowest price is Sheffield United, Norwich and Aston Villa @ 17.00 to all get relegated through to Sheffield United, Watford and Wolves @ 401.00

*Norwich, Newcastle and Southampton are an excellent @ 76.00

Other Markets

The remaining markets are Top 4 finish, NOT to finish in Top 4, Top 6 Finish, NOT to finish in Top 6, Stay up, Bottom Half finish and Top Half finish but the odds are so bad that unless you support a particular team and feel very strongly they might do any of the above then betting in these markets is both risky and very low in profit.

Team Specials can also be found with these examples:

*Man City to Score 100+ Goals in The Premier League @ 3.50 / *Liverpool @ 7.00
Man City to Get 100+ Points in The Premier League @ 5.40 / Liverpool @ 15.00
Man City to Go the entire Premier League season Unbeaten @ 21.00 / Liverpool @ 26.00

Some other fun markets are Lowest Scoring Team, Highest Scoring Team, Season Match bets, Top London Club, Top Promoted Club, Top on Xmas Day and Bottom on Xmas Day.

Individual Player Betting Markets

These markets focus on the player awards given at the end of the season, they are:

PFA Player of the year

*Kevin de Bruyne @ 7.00, *Raheem Sterling @ 10.00, Mohamed Salah @ 10.00, David Silva @ 13.00

PFA Young player of the year

Trent Alexander-Arnold @ 8.00, *Marcus Rashford @ 10.00. Gabriel Jesus @ 1.00, Dele Alli @ 13.00, Aaron Wan-Bissaka @ 15.00

Golden Glove Winner (Goalkeeper to have the most clean-sheets)

Ederson @ 2.00, *Alisson @ 2.62. Hugo Lloris @ 10.00, David de Gea @ 13.00, Kepa Arrizabalaga @ 15.00
