Regular Season Wins
In this market the bookmakers select a number and you gamble on if the team will win over or under the specified amount of games in the regular season (that is the 16 games played to qualify or the play-offs).
For example, Philadelphia Eagles regular season wins – “10” – Under @ 1.77 Over @ 2.10
To make Playoffs
This is again a simple Yes / No bet – Will Team A make the playoffs?
For example, Arizona Cardinals NO @ 1.07 Yes @ 8.50
Regular Season MVP
This a standard bet for individual players – it is similar to “Season Top Goal Scorer” in soccer betting. MVP means “Most Valuable Player” where stats are kept and points awarded for such things as passing, receiving, scoring, blocking, sacking etc. The player with the most points wins the MVP award. Generally, quarterbacks are favorite with this year’s favorite being Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packer) @ 6.50
Defensive Player of the year, Defensive Rookie of the year and Offensive Rookie of the year
Exactly the same as MVP betting markets but for different awards. If you have good knowledge of the game and follow NFL closely you can find great value in these markets, and also be aware that the favorites are just as likely as outsiders to be injury prone or to be targeted more and therefore get injured which affects their overall points at the end of the season.
Come Back Player of the year
This is awarded to a player that suffered a severe injury, poor form or adversity in the previous season and is chosen as highly improved this season. The winner is usually a quarterback or a running back.
Most Regular Season Passing yards, Most Regular Season Rushing yards and Most Regular Season Receiving yards
Exactly the same as player of the year awards markets but these are for yardage stats per individual players.
Passing Yards – *Tom Brady (New England Patriots) @ 6.00
Rushing Yards – *Le’Veon Bell (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ 6.50
Receiving Yards – *Odell Beckham Jr. (New York Giants) @ 11.00
*No Bet
Final Word
As you can see, we sometimes choose three or four teams in some markets, these are simply recommendations that we would choose from for singles or doubles or accumulator bets, of course only one team can win so we narrow down our selections to who we believe has a chance and then choose from that narrowed down list or/and use those teams to place cover bets and in accumulators against/with other selections.
We hope you enjoy the NFL betting and win your bets. Good luck!
