The Ryder Cup is a golf tournament between the U.S.A and Europe, it is held every two years in alternate locations in the U.S.A. and Europe and this year from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th September it will be held in France at the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Both teams have twelve players and the format follows:
Friday - Foursomes and Four-balls
Saturday - Foursomes and Four-balls
Sunday - Singles
Foursome matches is where two players from each team take turns to play each stroke. Four-ball is where four players play and the player that wins the hole scores a point for his team, if the strokes are level for a player on both teams then the hole is “halved”.
Singles are straightforward matches between each player on each team.

Outright
The online bookmakers make the U.S.A. favorites @ 1.80 with *Europe @ 2.25. The Tie is @ 13.00
From 1979 when the UK & Ireland team was extended to Europe there has been one tie, and Europe have won it ten times and the U.S.A eight times. The U.S.A players tend to prefer wide fairways and short rough which most US courses accommodate however in Europe the fairways tend to be less wide and have taller rough coupled with more adverse weather conditions.
The USA won The Ryder Cup in 2016. Since 1999 Europe have won it six times to the U.S.A.’s three.
There are also outright markets available for each day:

Final Word
One market to avoid is “To hit the first tee shot for America” and “To hit the first tee shot for Europe” for these are dependent on who is matched up to play with each other and by the fixtures chosen.
The odds for individuals and correct scores are pretty high so by combining bets into doubles and trebles and parlays it is possible to win a lot of money so it is worth considering smaller stakes on these too. Enjoy the one of the best golf tournaments in the world and good luck with all of your selections!
