The 2018 World Cup group games have now been completed with hundreds of betting lines and markets available on individual match betting for the second round of fixtures in the knockout stage where sixteen teams play to a result - if the game is a draw at full-time, 30 minutes overtime is played and if the result is still a draw then the game is decided on penalties.
The fixtures start on Saturday the 30th of June and run to Tuesday 3rd of July. The quarter final stage starts on Friday 6th July.
Over the four days of Round 2, two fixtures are played each day with the first fixture at 3:00 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m. U.K. time.
Here we look at the first two fixtures to be played on Saturday June 30th:

You have seen the first round of games so you have an idea of which teams are performing well or not so well. Argentina made it a little difficult for themselves but Messi’s talent saw the team win their final game to get through in second place in their group. As you can see from previous result Argentina have never lost against France. France easily qualified but have not been brilliant but generally the best teams and ultimate winners of the world cup often start slowly or without too much rhythm but improve as the tournament progresses.
At this stage their is often the attitude that their is “too much to lose” so games between favorites are often low scoring, nervous type games where the result can be decided by just one small mistake, a lack of concentration at a set piece (free kick, corner) or penalties.
From a gambling point of view the match result odds look good for an Argentina win, for score casts we would be looking at a low scoring game 1-0 to either team, a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. The odds for a team to win on penalties or in extra time are also looked at. Please note that the penalty situation is no longer a team A then team B alternate order but will be:

Uruguay qualified comfortably and are looking good while Portugal have their superstar in Ronaldo. As with the France vs Argentina fixture this is set to be a close game but with perhaps more goals although again bets on extra time and penalties always look attractive in the knock out stages.
