Australian Open Tennis 2019 Betting Odds and Recommended Bets

Tennis Betting tips and Recommended Bets

The Australian Open is a “Grand Slam” tennis event and is the first of the four “major” tennis tournaments held in the year.

The tournament begins on Monday 14th of January and ends with the Women’s final played on Saturday 26th of January and the Men’s final played on Sunday 27th of January.

The Australian Open has 8 rounds starting with 128 players. Each round is a “best of 5 sets” or “first to win 3 sets” (men) and a “best of 3 sets” or “first to win 2 sets” (women).

The courts are “hard” - they are played on an acrylic surface.

Outright betting and individual match betting is generally available at most quality on-line bookmakers for the Men’s and Women’s single events.

From the quarter final stages betting is also available on the men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles events.

What betting markets are available?

There are many betting markets offered for betting on tennis at the Australian Open including outright winner, round betting, match bets, set betting and specials.

Outright Betting

There are two main outright betting markets available, these are the Men’s Singles and the Women’s Singles. Both markets offer ½ the odds “to place 1,2” or “reach the final”.

The doubles (men’s, women’s and mixed) outright odds generally become available in the second week from Sunday, 20th January.
